2011 Sertoma Award
At a banquet on March 15, 2011, CASA Volunteer Sue Edwards was awarded the 2010-2011 International Service to Mankind Award by the Heartland Sertoma Club. Sue was nominated by our Board Member Sharon Boranyak for her amazing work in the community. In addition to her dedicated service as a CASA volunteer, she was recognized for her medical mission work in Kansas, Guatemala, Honduras, and Haiti; organization of relief efforts for victims of hurricanes in Florida and Louisiana; and involvement in the Topeka community as a Sunday School teacher, health clinic volunteer, hospice nurse, and master gardener. CASA of Shawnee County echoes Sertoma’s appreciation for and admiration of her work.
